And Lynn, thank you for allowing me to post here, it is always an honor.

Biblical orientalisms have caused more confusion and even caused people to stay away from Christ because we don't always know how to explain them. But when we understand the culture behind the Bible, it makes God's Word that much more clear.

MicheleM. L. Thanks for sharing your thoughts...Hi Michele/Lynn,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this passage of scripture. Reading, "...for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head." -- Can feed into the human nature of vengance which brings me in direct conflict with the emphasis being on me not taking vengence.

This explanation you give demonstrates how love is a more excellent way, demonstrating the grace and forgiveness of God in my life toward others. I like to think of this scripture as saying, ...in doing so, I give place to the Lord, allowing Him to be revealed to my perceived enemy as a loving, caring, forgiving God of grace and mercy.

Blessings and peace.

MTJMTJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13694085588658653915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9050928059293791369.post-10591536423118767562010-10-22T10:15:04.475-04:002010-10-22T10:15:04.475-04:00I read this passage not long ago and wondered agai...I read this passage not long ago and wondered again what it meant.
