One sermon I remember while growing up was on always praise God thru the good and bad. It stuck with me as the Pastor's wife was dying with cancer. It amazed me that he could say that, his faith was a definite example.Walkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09610615673189451007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9050928059293791369.post-33322977724843745672009-04-29T14:16:00.000-04:002009-04-29T14:16:00.000-04:00Oh Lynn, what a perfect post for me to read this m...Oh Lynn, what a perfect post for me to read this morning. There are times when I can get stuck in self-pity and why me? But if I start praising God despite any difficulties, my perspective changes too. It also reminds me that this really isn't my home. I'm just passing through. And one day in Heaven, I may look back and think "why did I get so upset during that time?" I really enjoyed this one, friend.

BTW, still praying but possible interested party from this weekend. Waiting for decision. :)Debbie Petrashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08235978883396499354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9050928059293791369.post-58000931904471072932009-04-28T12:11:00.000-04:002009-04-28T12:11:00.000-04:00Your admonishment and encouragement here are alway...Your admonishment and encouragement here are always needed reminders for me. Is he the only person worthy of a second thought and what would be the motivation for a change in behavior? Fear or true compassion for the other?

I can't answer "what would jesus do?" I don't know him personally and all I've only read about him from others (the Bible). It's like... "okay, I don't like this place - can I just skip this and go right to the Heaven part!" I just easily seem to discern all the things that are wrong in the world (I can really sympathize with Jeremiah).

It's a constant for me to train my focus on "God's character and power.. and mercy!" It is a must though and the joy of the Lord IS my strength.

Thank you so much for this wonderful post... a needed exhortation and comfort!

Blessings galore :-DLorriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15941727850419862559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9050928059293791369.post-51727153018914366392009-04-27T23:17:00.000-04:002009-04-27T23:17:00.000-04:00This is a terrific post, Lynn, and so relevant!
